Arifin Firdaus, melakukan kunjungan ke Kebun Ajong Gayasan PTPN X dan Industri Cutting Bobbin PT Penyelesaian Masalah Properti (PMP) di Jember (13/10). Kunjungan diterima langsung oleh Direktur PTPN X, Tuhu Bangun beserta jajaran pejabat puncak PTPN X.

“Kami sudah melihat tahapan tahapannya berikut juga informasi terkait kualitas, tentunya kami bersama-sama memperhatikan kelangsungan industri tembakau,” terang Ida Dwi Nilasari, Asdep Bidang Ketahanan Pangan Pertanian Sekretariat Kabinet.

Kunjungan dimulai dengan melihat Gudang Pengolah Kebun Ajong Gayasan dan berdiskusi dengan manajemen mengenai tantangan yang dihadapi terkait pengelolaan tembakau. Kunjungan dilanjutkan ke industry cerutu cutting bobbin milik PT PMP, dimana bahan baku tembakaunya diperoleh dari PTPN X. Tembakau PTPN X memiliki kualitas ekspor, dimana mayoritas diekspor ke berbagai negara di benua Amerika dan Eropa. Tembakau ekspor ini digunakan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan cerutu luar negeri.

“Ini adalah industri yang intensif, jadi harus selalu dipertahankan. Saya selalu berpesan industri ini harus bermanfaat untuk masyarakat sekitar. Saya juga berharap kerjasama antara PTPN dengan Bobin harus berlanjut dan terus ditingkatkan, sehingga keduanya mendapat manfaat yang sama,” ungkap Rachman Ferry Isfianto, Asdep Bidang Industri Perkebunan & Kehutanan Kementerian BUMN.
