New Delhi, September 2023 — Menteri Perdagangan RI Zulkifli Hasan turut mendampingi Presiden RI Joko Widodo dalam pertemuan bilateral dengan Perdana Menteri Italia Giorgia Meloni, Minggu (10/9) di New Delhi, India. Mendag Zulkifli Hasan menuturkan, salah satu hal yang dibahas dalam pertemuan tersebut adalah harapan kepada Italia untuk mendukung komoditas kelapa sawit Indonesia dari kebijakan European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).
“Pertemuan Presiden RI dengan Perdana Menteri Italia membicarakan tentang upaya memperkuat
hubungan kedua negara. Indonesia juga mengharapkan dukungan Italia untuk produk kelapa sawit
kita dari kebijakan European Union Deforestation Regulation. Italia memaklumi dan akan
membahasnya,” kata Mendag Zulkifli Hasan pascapertemuan.
Pertemuan bilateral antara Indonesia dan Italia tersebut digelar di sela-sela hari terakhir Konferensi
Tingkat Tinggi (KTT) G20 di New Delhi, India. KTT G20 untuk Keketuaan India berlangsung pada 9—
10 September 2023.
Mendag Zulkifli Hasan menyampaikan, Presiden RI mengapresiasi peningkatan investasi Italia di
Indonesia. Presiden RI juga mengapresiasi komitmen Italia dalam skema Just Energy Transition
Partnership (JETP). Selain itu, Indonesia juga mengundang Italia untuk turut mengembangkan
ekosistem kendaraan listrik, infrastruktur hijau, dan pembangunan Ibu Kota Nusantara. “Kita juga
mengundang Italia,” ungkap Mendag Zulkifli Hasan.
