Indonesia Ekspor Minyak Jelantah ke AS

Jakarta – Sebanyak lima kontainer atau sekitar 200 metrik ton minyak jelantah asal Indonesia diekspor ke Amerika Serikat (AS).

Siapa mengira, minyak bekas gorengan yang sudah beberapa kali pakai itu masih punya nilai ekspor. Ya, minyak jelantah! Atau used cooking oil kini menjadi komoditi ekspor ke Amerika Serikat (AS).

Sebanyak lima kontainer atau sekitar 200 metrik ton minyak jelantah hasil pengumpulan dari Sistem Informasi Minyak Jelantah (Simijel) belum lama ini diberangkatkan ke Amerika. Pelepasan ekspor dilakukan secara hibrida dari tiga lokasi, yakni di Gedung Pusat Kementerian Perindustrian, di Gudang CV Artha Metro Oil Tangerang, dan di Veriflux Office Houston Texas USA.

Minyak jelantah itu selanjutnya akan diproses menjadi greenfuel sustainable aviation fuel/green avtur (SAF) dan hydrotreated vegetable oil/green diesel (HVO). Minyak goreng jelantah adalah minyak limbah yang bisa berasal dari jenis-jenis minyak goreng seperti halnya minyak jagung, minyak sayur, minyak samin, dan sebagainya.

Pada umumnya, minyak itu merupakan minyak bekas pemakaian kebutuhan rumah tangga. Minyak goreng bekas merupakan minyak yang sudah digunakan berulang-ulang (empat kali) pemakaiannya dan minyak tersebut sudah turun kualitasnya.

Direktur Jenderal Industri Agro Kementerian Perindustrian (Kemenperin) Putu Juli Ardika, dalam acara pelepasan ekspor perdana minyak jelantah beberapa waktu lalu, menyampaikan bahwa greenfuel yang dihasilkan dari minyak jelantah yang tertelusur (well-traceable) mempunyai net carbon emission index sangat rendah yang berasal dari implementasi prinsip economy circular yaitu from waste to energy.

Aspek ketertelusuran menjadi prasyarat karena buyer membutuhkan jaminan asal-usul minyak jelantah harus betul-betul berasal dari titik produksi minyak jelantah, bukan berasal dari campuran minyak segar/minyak-minyak lain dan/atau berasal dari sumber minyak jelantah yang ilegal.

Minyak jelantah yang mempunyai ketertelusuran asal-usul (point-of-origin traceability) ini yang sangat diminati oleh industri greenfuel dan menjadi standar baru penerimaan minyak jelantah di Uni Eropa dan Amerika Utara. Karena tuntutan tersebut, Ketua Asosiasi Exportir Minyak Jelantah Indonesia (AEMJI) Setiady Goenawan mengatakan, pihaknya telah memperkenalkan Simijel pada event Hannover Messe 2023 sebagai platform digital berbasis data geotag location untuk menjamin ketertelusuran (traceability) atas rantai pasok pengumpulan minyak jelantah.

Simijel masih dalam tahap awal pengembangan dalam penerapan digitalisasi rantai pasok minyak jelantah. Sistem tersebut telah mencakup 4.000 titik (outlet) termasuk restoran, hotel, katering, dan pedagang kaki lima sebagai titik sumber minyak jelantah.

Simijel juga telah merekam data pengumpulan minyak jelantah untuk kebutuhan ekspor sekitar 800 metrik ton per bulan hingga saat ini. Cakupan ini akan terus kita kejar hingga bisa menjangkau seluruh anggota AEMJI dengan perkiraan volume ekspor mencapai 20 ribu metrik ton per bulan.

AEMJI mendukung pengolahan limbah minyak jelantah menjadi bahan baku industri greenfuel sebagai solusi pengurangan emisi karbon, mitigasi dampak perubahan iklim dan optimalisasi devisa negara dari substitusi impor BBM dan ekspor greenfuel.

Simijel juga mulai diintegrasikan dengan Veriflux, penyedia platform teknologi informasi asal AS yang mengelola basis data rantai pasok, termasuk pengumpulan minyak jelantah di AS. Veriflux didukung oleh United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) untuk menjamin ketertelusuran minyak jelantah hanya digunakan sebagai bahan baku industri greenfuel dan tidak disalahgunakan pada kegiatan food recycling.

Ekspor ini jadi awal bagi eksportir minyak jelantah ke AS. Kerja sama dengan Veriflux juga dilakukan untuk memenuhi standar traceability dari AS yang sangat tinggi kriterianya.

Perlu diketahui, Simijel dikembangkan oleh AEMJI bekerja sama dengan PT Incore System Solutions, sebuah perusahaan di bidang IT yang 100 persen sahamnya dimiliki oleh warga negara Indonesia (WNI). Sedangkan Veriflux merupakan pihak penyedia platform teknologi informasi untuk mengelola basis data rantai pasok kompleks, termasuk reverse logistic minyak jelantah di beberapa negara bagian Amerika Serikat.
