Kalahkan Pemanjat Tuan Rumah, Atlet Panjat Tebing Desak Made Persembahkan Medali Emas untuk Indonesia

Hangzhou, Oktober 2023 – Atlet panjat tebing Indonesia, Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi, berhasil meraih medali emas nomor speed putri pada Asian Games 2022 Hangzhou. Desak sukses mengalahkan wakil tuan rumah China, Deng Li Juan, sekaligus mempertajam rekor.

Bertanding di SXK Sport Climbing Centre, Hangzhou, China, Selasa (3/10) atlet panjat tebing asal Bali tersebut berhasil mengalahkan wakil tuan rumah China, Deng Li Juan dengan rekor waktu fantastis, 6,364 detik.

Catatan waktu Desak Made tersebut memecahkan rekor Asian Games yang ia catat atas namanya sendiri berturut-turut sepanjang laga hari ini.

Dari babak perempat final sampai final, Desak Made memecah rekor tiga kali, di mana catatan waktunya terus membaik, dari sebelumnya 6,6 detik dan 6,5 detik.

Sementara Deng Li Juan, pada final hari ini tidak bisa banyak berkutik melawan kecepatan Desak Made. Deng yang didukung penuh publik tuan rumah harus puas dengan raihan medali perak setelah membukukan 6,435 detik.

“Saya sendiri sebelum kompetisi selalu meyakinkan diri bahwa sudah berlatih keras untuk menjadi yang terbaik, dan capaian ini seperti yang desak mimpikan selain ke Olimpiade 2024 Paris. Jadi saya selalu berdoa selalu bisa menjadi juara,” ujar Desak usai pertandingan.
