Krisis Air Bersih, DPR Dorong Pemerintah Siapkan Teknologi Pemurnian Air

Jakarta, September 2023 – Komisi V DPR RI mendorong Pemerintah untuk menyiapkan strategi jangka panjang guna mengantisipasi krisis air bersih yang tengah melanda masyarakat di sejumlah daerah. Infrastruktur teknologi pemurnian air menjadi salah satu cara yang diharapkan bisa menjadi solusi dari dampak kemarau panjang.

“Teknologi pemurnian air memiliki peran penting dalam memastikan pasokan air bersih yang aman dan dapat diandalkan bagi masyarakat, industri, dan lingkungan,” ujar Wakil Ketua Komisi V DPR RI Andi Iwan Darmawan Aras dalam rilis media , Senin (25/9/2023).

Seperti diketahui, kemarau panjang berdampak pada krisis air bersih di banyak daerah. Bahkan krisis air bersih juga mulai dirasakan di kota-kota besar di Indonesia, seperti di Jakarta. Perusahaan Air Minum Jakarta Raya (PAM JAYA) menyampaikan ada 17 kecamatan di wilayah Jakarta Barat dan Jakarta Utara yang mengalami krisis air. Salah satu penyebabnya, karena Instalasi Pengelolaan Air (IPA) Hutan Kota dihentikan buntut kemarau panjang.

Tercatat salah satu wilayah yang paling terdampak terjadi di Kalideres, Jakarta Barat. Adapun krisis air bersih di wilayah ini sudah terjadi selama dua pekan terakhir. Untuk mengantisipasinya, PAM JAYA akan memaksimalkan pelayanan air tangki gratis sebagai bentuk bantuan untuk masyarakat yang mengalami kekurangan air.

Berkaca dari hal itu, Iwan Aras menilai pemaksimalan layanan air gratis melalui truk-truk pengangkut air merupakan solusi jangka pendek. Ia menyebut solusi tersebut hanya akan bertahan dalam waktu singkat sehingga Pemerintah perlu menyiapkan strategi atau program jangka panjang dalam mengatasi krisis air bersih yang juga berpotensi terjadi di masa akan datang.

“Distribusi air bersih darurat ke daerah-daerah yang paling terdampak oleh krisis air memang tepat dilakukan sebagai upaya siaga Pemerintah dalam membantu masyarakat. Namun bukan di situ letak penyelesaiannya. Harus ada strategi yang disiapkan untuk jangka panjang, seperti teknologi pemurnian air,” ungkapnya.

Lebih lanjut, terkait infrastruktur teknologi pemurnian air, Iwan Aras mengatakan salah satu upaya yang bisa dilakukan adalah dengan cara Reverse Osmosis (RO). Metode ini cukup efisien sebab menggunakan membran semi-permeabel untuk menghilangkan zat-zat terlarut dari air laut, termasuk garam, ion logam, dan senyawa organik.

“Jakarta yang lokasinya tidak jauh dari laut memungkinkan berinvestasi dengan teknologi pemurnian air yang menyaring kualitas air laut sehingga menjadi air bersih yang dapat didistribusikan ke masyarakat. Ini salah satu langkah konkret investasi infrastruktur yang bisa dilakukan,” terang Politisi Fraksi Partai Gerindra itu.
