Presiden Direktur Unilever Indonesia Ira Noviarti mengungkapkan bahwa penghargaan dari MUI akan terus mendorong perusahaan untuk mengembangkan inovasi dan program-program yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan konsumen Muslim.
Unilever juga berkomitmen untuk terus memajukan gaya hidup halal di Indonesia. “Penghargaan dari MUI ini akan terus mendorong kami untuk mengembangkan inovasi dan program-program yang sejalan dengan kebutuhan konsumen muslim, sambil bersama-sama memajukan gaya hidup halal di Indonesia,” jelas Ira dalam keterangan tertulis, Rabu (13/9/2023).
Menurut Ira, Unilever memastikan tidak hanya fokus pada penyediaan produk yang memenuhi kebutuhan masyarakat, tetapi juga telah melaksanakan implementasi Sistem Jaminan Halal (SJH) yang komprehensif dari hulu hingga hingga hilir. Pada 2021, Unilever Muslim Centre of Excellence (Unilever MCOE) resmi diluncurkan dan menjadi pusat kajian berskala global terkait produk halal. Melalui pusat ini, Unilever secara konsisten melakukan penelitian untuk memahami kebutuhan dan tren konsumen Muslim di Indonesia.
Pada gelaran Halal Award 2023 ini, Unilever Indonesia telah memenuhi berbagai kriteria yang diperlukan untuk meraih penghargaan Longlife Achievement, termasuk memiliki status Sistem Jaminan Halal (SJH) A atau Sertifikat SJH, serta konsisten dalam memperpanjang Sertifikat Halal tanpa ada keterlambatan. Perusahaan ini juga telah menjadi mitra terlama LPPOM MUI sejak tahun 1994, menunjukkan komitmen yang kuat terhadap kehalalan produknya.
Ketua MUI Bidang Ekonomi Syariah dan Halal K.H. Sholahudin Al Aiyub, mengungkapkan apresiasi tinggi terhadap semua pihak yang berkontribusi dalam menjaga kehalalan produk di Indonesia. “MUI mengapresiasi semua pihak, khususnya kepada pihak-pihak yang melakukan upaya sehingga produk halal ini terus berkembang dan menjadi lebih besar di Indonesia, sehingga konsumen muslim di Indonesia dapat terpenuhi hak-haknya, yaitu mereka mengkonsumsi produk yang benar-benar diyakini kehalalannya,” ujar K.H. MUI juga memberikan penghargaan khusus kepada Lembaga Pengkajian Pangan, Obat-obatan, dan Kosmetika Majelis Ulama Indonesia (LPPOM MUI) yang telah menyelenggarakan Halal Award 2023.
