Buka Peluang Kerja Sama Perdagangan dan Investasi, Joint Business Council dalam IMT-GT ke-29 Resmi Digelar

Batam, September 2023 – Dilaksanakan setiap tahun sebagai bagian dari penyelenggaraan pertemuan Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle (IMT-GT), pertemuan Joint Business Council (JBC) kembali diselenggarakan dengan mengambil tempat di Hotel Marriot Batam pada Kamis (28/09). Menghadirkan perwakilan kalangan enterpreneur di kawasan IMT-GT, JBC juga menjadi rangkaian kegiatan Pertemuan Tingkat Menteri IMT-GT ke-29.

Dipimpin oleh 3 orang perwakilan Kamar Dagang dari setiap negara yakni Sjahran Kurnia Ramadhan Harahap (Indonesia), Datuk Muhadzir B. Mohd Isa (Malaysia), dan Panitam Pavarolavidya (Thailand), JBC bertujuan untuk membuka peluang kerja sama perdagangan dan investasi secara langsung dengan konsep Business to Business. Selain itu, JBC juga gencar menyampaikan masukan dan gagasan proyek kepada IMT-GT agar kegiatan JBC dapat sejalan dengan kebijakan yang dirancang oleh Pemerintah di sub kawasan IMT-GT.

Saat ini, JBC memiliki berbagai proyek kerja sama pada sektor pariwisata, konektivitas, bio-economy, digitalisasi, dan pemanfaatan kawasan ekonomi khusus serta capacity building. Masyarakat diharapkan dapat turut ambil bagian dalam implementasi berbagai kerja sama ini antara lain melalui social-eco housing untuk mendukung pengembangan kota yang bebas dari sampah plastik melalui kegiatan plastic recycle.

Salah satu proyek konkret JBC adalah pengembangan Kuala Tanjung Industrial Estate yang terintegrasi dengan terminal multi-purpose Kuala Tanjung. Lebih lanjut, Kuala Tanjung Industrial Estate melayani konsultasi bidang manajemen operasional dan pemeliharan kawasan industri, jasa pembangunan dan pengelolaan kawasan industri, sewa kawasan industri dan jasa pengolahan limbah.

Ke depan, JBC akan memperluas area kerja sama termasuk penguatan sektor lingkungan, melalui energi terbarukan, lampu jalan beraliran tenaga matahari, dan Combined Cycle Power Plant. Perluasan sektor kerja sama tersebut akan berdampak terhadap ketersediaan sumber energi yang bisa dimanfaatkan oleh para pelaku bisnis kecil dan menengah.

Dalam kesempatan tersebut disepakati pula Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) untuk membentuk sekretariat bersama guna mendukung kerja sama yang komprehensif antar pelaku bisnis di berbagai sektor di sub-kawasan IMT-GT.
