Indonesia dan Kenya Tandatangani Perjanjian Bilateral Strategis Terkait Pengembangan Energi

Jakarta, September 2023 – Para delegasi Kenya yang dipimpin Menteri (Sekretaris Kabinet) Energi dan Petroleum Kenya Davis Chirchir melakukan kunjungan kerja ke Indonesia pada 12-13 September 2023. Kunjungan ini dilakukan untuk membahas tindak lanjut kunjungan Presiden RI ke Kenya pada tanggal 21 Agustus 2023 dan implementasi MoU G-to-G (government to government) kedua negara di sektor energi.

Menteri Koordinator Bidang Kemaritiman dan Investasi Indonesia (Menko Marves), Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan menerima kunjungan delegasi Kenya didampingi oleh perwakilan Kementerian Luar Negeri, Kementerian ESDM dan Pertamina. Dalam sambutannya, Menko Marves Luhut menyampaikan apresiasi kepada Menteri Energi dan Petroleum Kenya dan Menteri ESDM atas progres implementasi MoU G-to-G dan meminta agar investasi Indonesia di Kenya dapat segera direalisasikan.

“Indonesia akan melakukan investasi dan menjadikan Kenya sebagai energy-hub di Kawasan Afrika Timur, khususnya untuk Uganda dan Sudan Selatan,” tutur Menko Luhut.

Menurut Menko Marves Luhut, Kenya menawarkan beberapa blok migas yang akan dikembangkan dan pembangunan kilang minyak di Kenya. 

Para Delegasi Kenya sangat antusias untuk bekerjasama dengan Indonesia termasuk rencana investasi di Kenya. Menteri Energi dan Petroleum Kenya Davis Chirchir berharap MoU G-to-G tersebut dapat segera diimplementasikan melalui kerja sama antar BUMN kedua negara.

“Hari ini saya bersama Menteri ESDM sepakat meningkatkan kerja sama antara Pertamina dengan BUMN Kenya dalam mengembangkan potensi geothermal serta upstream hingga downstream minyak dan gas,” ujar Menteri  Energi dan Petroleum Kenya, Davis Chirchir di Kantor Kementerian Koordinator Bidang Kemaritiman dan Investasi Republik Indonesia.  

Pada kesempatan ini Pertamina selaku BUMN Indonesia telah membangun kerja sama dengan Geothermal Development Company (GDC) dan Kenya Pipeline Company Limited. Dalam kunjungan ini Pertamina Geothermal Energy menandatangani non-disclosure agreement (NDA) dengan Geothermal Development Company (GDC)  yang disaksikan langsung oleh Menko Marves Luhut dan Menteri Energi dan Petroleum Kenya Davis Chirchir.

Menko Marves Luhut akan terus memastikan berbagai perjanjian sektor energi agar segera dilaksanakan dan mendorong Pertamina untuk segera menandatangani perjanjian eksplorasi kilang minyak di blok Turkana Kenya tahun ini
