Jakarta – Sejumlah sekolah SD hingga SMA dari 70 kabupaten/kota di Indonesia berpartisipasi dalam Science Film Festival 2023 (Festival Film Sains 2023). Pembukaannya digelar di Kantor Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi (Kemendikbud Ristek), Jakarta pada Sabtu 21 Oktober 2023.
Tahun ini merupakan pergelaran Festival Film Sains yang ke-14 di Indonesia. Acara ini merupakan bagian dari agenda Dekade Restorasi Ekosistem dari Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa (PBB) yang selanjutnya menjadi tema dari kegiatan ini yang digelar mulai 21 Oktober 2023 hingga 30 November 2023.
Diusung oleh Goethe-Institut, lembaga asal Jerman, acara ini memungkinkan para siswa untuk mengetahui pentingnya perlindungan dan pemulihan ekosistem melalui pemutaran berbagai film internasional dari 12 negara diselingi eksperimen sains menyenangkan yang mungkin cocok bagi anak-anak.
“Kami tidak hanya terlibat dalam sains, tetapi memahami sains sebagai kemungkinan untuk menemukan solusi, tidak hanya di tingkat nasional dan internasional tetapi kami memahami sains sebagai kemungkinan untuk menemukan kesamaan dan pemahaman bersama,” tutur Dr. Stefan Dreyer, Direktur Goethe-Institut Wilayah Asia Tenggara, Australia, Selandia Baru dalam sesi Press Talk di kantor Kemendikbud Ristek.Stefan Dreyer kemudian mendorong anak-anak untuk dapat mengambil aksi dalam bidang sains ke depannya saat pembukaan festival film ini di Plaza Insan Berprestasi, Kemendikbud Ristek, Jakarta.
“Kami ingin mendorong Anda untuk berpartisipasi dalam sains. Kami ingin menunjukkan sains bisa menyenangkan. Sangat berharap bahwa Anda semua menikmati pengalamannya. Dan saya sangat berharap kepada Anda semua karena Anda pemilik generasi masa depan, Anda akan mengambil tindakan karena kekuatan itu,” ujarnya.
