Untuk diketahui, mayoritas pekerja rentan di Kota Bontang berprofesi sebagai tukang pijat tradisional, tukang ojek, pedagang, mekanik, dan kurir. Para pekerja akan mendapat dua jenis program perlindungan, yakni Jaminan Kecelakaan Kerja (JKK) dan Jaminan Kematian (JKM) dari BPJS Ketenagakerjaan. P
ada kesempatan yang sama, Direktur Kepesertaan BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Zainudin mengapresiasi kinerja cepat Pemerintah Kota (Pemkot) Bontang dalam melindungi pekerjanya. Pasalnya, kepesertaan BPJS Ketenagakerjaan di Kota Bontang sudah mencapai 95 persen atau tertinggi se-Kalimantan Timur (Kaltim). “Inovasi ini sangat luar biasa. Saya rasa Pemkot Bontang sangat memperhatikan seluruh pekerja rentan, termasuk penyandang disabilitas. Kepesertaannya kini hampir full coverage,” ucap Zainudin.
Lebih lanjut, Zainudin berharap agar inovasi yang dilakukan Pemkot Bontang dapat menginspirasi pemerintah daerah (pemda) lain untuk meningkatkan perlindungan bagi para pekerjanya. “Kami siap berkolaborasi dengan berbagai pihak untuk meningkatkan perlindungan para pekerja rentan di Indonesia. Hal ini agar para pekerja rentan dapat bekerja tanpa rasa cemas.
