Menurut Mendag Zulkifli Hasan, jika UMKM tumbuh, Indonesia bisa menjadi negara maju.Hal tersebut disampaikan Mendag Zulkifli Hasan saat meninjau pedagang di ITC CempakaMas, Jakarta, Selasa (10/10).

“Pemerintah akan terus mendukung agar UMKM Indonesia dan pasar dalam negeri kita bergairah, berkembang, serta bertumbuh. Kalau UMKM-nya tumbuh, industri tumbuh, dan toko ramai, pengangguran bisa mendapatkan pekerjaan dan nantinya akan membayar pajak. Hal inilah yang bisa membuat negara maju. Jika negara maju, kita bisa ekspor ke luar negeri,”ujar Mendag Zulkifli Hasan

Mendag Zulkifli Hasan menjelaskan, pemerintah juga akan mengendalikan impor agar barang-barang impor tidak membanjiri pasar dalam negeri. “Kalau barang impornya banjir, pelaku UMKM menjadi kalah dan tertekan. Untuk itu, pemerintah mengembalikan sistem pengawasan di luar kawasan pabean(post-border) menjadi pengawasan di kawasan pabean(border). Jadi, barang impor akan diperiksa kelengkapannya. Misalnya, kesesuaian terhadap Standar Nasional Indonesia (SNI), izin impor, dan sertifikat impor. Kita perketat. Pemerintah juga sedang merumuskanpositive list untuk produk impor yang bisa masuk ke Indonesia,” ungkap Mendag Zulkifli Hasan.

Pemerintah, lanjut Mendag Zulkifli Hasan, juga mengatur media sosial, social commerce, dan niaga elektronik (e-commerce).Aturan ini agar UMKM Indonesia tidak terganggu. Mendag Zulkifli Hasan berharap, para pedagang yang sudah memiliki toko luring bisa mengembangkan usaha mereka dengan berjualan secara daring.
