Menghargai Nilai Sejarah Perjuangan Australia, Wamenhan RI M. Herindra Hadiri Tradisi Last Post Ceremony

Canberra – Sebagai wujud penghormatan pada nilai sejarah perjuangan Australia, Wamenhan RI M. Herindra melakukan kunjungan ke Australian War Memorial pada hari Rabu (11/10), yang dilanjutkan dengan meletakkan karangan bunga dalam sebuah upacara resmi, Last Post Ceremony, untuk mengenang jasa-jasa para pejuang perang Australia yang telah gugur di berbagai medan pertempuran.

Turut hadir bersama-sama Wamenhan M. Herindra untuk meletakkan karangan bunga adalah Wakil Panglima dari Australian Defence Force (Vice Chief of Defence/VCDF) Vice Admiral David Johnston.

Last Post Ceremony dimulai dengan kumandang Lagu Kebangsaan Australia, Advance Australian Fair, yang dilanjutkan dengan tiupan musik dari alat musik bigpipe. Rangkaian ini dilanjutkan dengan pembacaan profil singkat dari pahlawan perang Australia, disertai dengan peletakkan karangan bunga di hadapan foto sang pejuang.

Keseluruhan Upacara ini dilakukan di sebuah hall yang di tengah-tengahnya terdapat sebuah kolam besar, yang disebut sebagai the Pool of Reflection – yang lokasinya tepat di jantung Australian War Memorial. Adapun keluarga dari pejuang Australia yang profil bio-nya dibacakan hari itu, turut hadir untuk bersama-sama meletakkan karangan bunga. Australia, sebagai bagian dari negara Commonwealth, terlibat setidaknya dalam dua peperangan besar dunia, yaitu Perang Dunia I dan Perang Dunia II. (Biro Humas Setjen Kemhan)

    I do not know if it’s just me or if everybody
