Dukung Swasembada Gula PTPN X Kebun Glenmore Siapkan Benih Unggul

Banyuwangi  – PT Perkebunan Nusantara X (PTPN X) melakukan penanaman bibit tebu di Kebun Benih Datar (KBD) HGU Kebun Glenmore, Desa Margomulyo, Kecamatan Glenmore, Kabupaten Banyuwangi, Jawa Timur. 

KBD PTPN X tersebut memiliki luas sekitar 47 hektare. Bibit tebu yang ditanam di KBD merupakan hasil persilangan dari berbagai varietas tebu unggul. Bibit tebu dengan kualitas terbaik ini dipersiapkan sebagai bibit utama Masa Tanam (MT) 2024/2025 untuk ditanam diatas lahan sekitar 353 hektare di PTPN X Kebun Glenmore.

Manajer Tanaman PTPN X Kebun Glenmore, Mahmud Bekti Nugroho mengatakan, KBD ini merupakan bagian dari upaya untuk meningkatkan produktivitas tebu untuk mendukung program pemerintah swasembada gula.

“Kami ingin memiliki benih tebu unggul yang dapat menghasilkan tebu dengan kualitas dan produktivitas yang tinggi,” kata Mahmud, Selasa (7/11/2023).

Keberadaan PTPN X di Kecamatan Glenmore menambah poin sendiri untuk produktivitas tebu. Pasalnya, dengan melihat potensi dan tingkat kesuburan tanah pihaknya optimis target pada MT 2024/2025 bisa tercapai dengan baik.

Meskipun perdana, lanjut Mahmud, PTPN X Kebun Glenmore akan berusaha semaksimal mungkin untuk menghasilkan produksi tebu yang berkualitas. Sehingga diperlukan langkah-langkah program sebagai penunjang keberhasilan pada masa tanam hingga panen.

“Kita siapkan lahan seluas 400 hektare, untuk mensukseskan Musim giling 2024 dan 2025,” ungkapnya. 

Langkah PTPN X Kebun Glenmore diharapkan bisa membantu program pemerintah untuk swasembada gula dan tentunya juga bisa memberikan dampak positif untuk menunjang pembangunan dan kegiatan daerah serta mensejahterakan masyarakat.
