Jakarta, September 2023 – Kurangnya rasa kebanggaan terhadap olahraga dalam negeri menjadi salah satu kendala dalam pengembangan industri olahraha di tanah air. Sebagaimana disampaikan Ketua Umum (Ketum) Ikatan Motor Indonesia (IMI) Bambang Soesatyo.

“Kita akui sense of pride kita untuk olahraga tanah air masih kurang. Ini yang perlu kita dorong. Bersama Kemenpora kita munculkan sense of pride olahraga tanah air,” kata Bamsoet yang juga menjabat Ketua MPR RI.
Karena itu Bamsoet dalam kapasitasnya di legislatif menyatakan siap mendukung penambahan anggaran di Kemenpora. Karena menurutnya masih belum ada pendanaan yang besar untuk bidang olahraga bila melihat sumber daya manusia dan potensi ekonomi yang dimiliki. Apalagi menurutnya industri olahraga dapat mendorong ekonomi hingga 13,33 persen.
“Tenaga kerja yang terserap dari sektor olahraga ini sudah 170 ribu per tahun, dengan penghasilan kurang lebih Rp 43 triliun, cuma masih belum signifikan,” paparnya.
Dukungan yang sama disampaikan Wakil Ketua Umum PSSI Ratu Tisha yang turut menjadi narasumber. Untuk sepak bola misalnya, masih memiliki banyak potensi untuk dikembangkan. Apalagi melihat cabang olahraga paling populer di Indonesia berimbas pada bergeraknya roda ekonomi di masyarakat.
Dia mencontohkan ajang Piala Dunia FIFA U-17 yang menggerakkan produsen lokal dalam produksi merchandise-nya.
“Jadi yang ditunjuk oleh FIFA langsung adalah perusahaan lokal asli Indonesia. Jadi ini bukan iklan, tapi kalau boleh permohonan, kita harus beli ini dan sukseskan merchandising U-17 kita . Karena itu sudah pasti lokalnya brand kita, produksi di kita, brand di kita juga,” urai Ratu Tisha.
